Is SEO a Scam? | Know the Difference between White Hat SEO and Black Hat SEO

It is a big debate in today SEO world that SEO work is ethical or not. Basically there are two parts of SEO one is called White Hat SEO while other is called Black Hat SEO. Some SEO companies implement Black Hat SEO to get quickly high Page Rank in Search Engine. Black Hat SEO is unethical process of getting high page rank in search engine. It is well known that Back link is a big factor in SEO to easily get top rank in search result. To increase profit mostly SEO companies buy bulk links from different webmasters. The search engine counts these links as a spam. However the problem with search engine is that it is hard for search engine to track these unauthentic back links. It makes very easy to poor quality websites to rank top in search engine because they have lot of back links and it is impossible for search engine to determine that it is authentic link or not.  

Mostly, businesses know the power of the internet and they are using internet marketing technique to reach a global audience. With rising competition for ranking in search engine, companies are started to implement black hat SEO techniques, but they don’t know search engines likes Google, Yahoo, MSN is updating day by day and finding new ways to fight with spam. 

There are some things, which are part of the black hat SEO, and you should ensure that your SEO company does not implement it:-

-       - Link Farming: Buying links from the other sites, buying links from link brokers is called unethical link building.

-         - Keyword Stuffing: Keywords are used unnecessarily in page to increase keyword density is a bad practice in SEO. Search engines are now penalizing these types of content.

-         - Hidden Content: This is a black hat technique in which many SEO companies fill webpage with keyword density and hide these keywords through html tags. 

If you think that you can get long success by using black hat SEO techniques, you are doing a big mistake. Now search engines are behaving like human. They are using artificial intelligence algorithms to check relevancy and quality of content. So focus on the quality of your content, It is well known that content is king.
